A BIOFILIA E O AMBIENTE HOSPITALAR: A INFLUÊNCIA DA NATUREZA NA QUALIDADE DE VIDA DE PACIENTES, FAMILIARES E EQUIPE TERAPÊUTICA

Abstract

Architecture promotes balance between man and built space, thus creating spaces that favor environmental comfort. Biophilia, in turn, connects the human being to nature, influencing comfort and personal performance. Studies suggest that biophilia also brings benefits in the recovery process of patients and well-being to family members and the therapeutic team. Through a multi-method approach (bibliography review, interviews, questionnaires and walkthrough) this research sought arguments that confirm such benefits. The objective is to identify and compare the positive and negative aspects in hospital environments such as the State Hospital in Bauru (SP), the Khoo Teck Puat Hospital in Yishun, Singapore, the Albert Einstein Hospital in São Paulo (SP) and the HS Clinic in Campinas, sp). The review of the bibliography provided a better understanding of the topic. The interviews and questionnaires made it possible to understand the satisfaction of users regarding the environments frequented. The walkthrough contributed to the assessment of functional and environmental performance, among other aspects. The methods complement each other in the aforementioned hypothesis and aim to attest to the viability of biophilia with regard to the recovery of patients, the well- being of family members and the productivity of the therapeutic team, as well as analyzing the normative, architecture and functionality points of view between others.
